Wickhambrook Beavers and Cubs

1st Wickhambrook Scout Group currently has a Beaver Colony and a Cub Pack, both these groups aim to provide a balanced program of activities that falls within the scouting ethos (community values, teamwork friendship, fun and adventure etc).

We are within the Cambridgeshire county and are a Newmarket district group.

NEWS :1st Wickhambrook Scout group are in need of a Chairperson and a Secretary to serve on their executive committee. We have gone without one for too long now.Uunder the charities commission rulings will soon be forced to close the group unless we can fill these positions. You do not have to volunteer to help with the groups weekly activities. All that we ask of you is to chair, take notes and and add valuable comments to our termly meetings and AGM. That's about 4 meetings a year! We will even provide the tea and biscuits! If you are interested in reliving your youth and being involved in scouting in the village then please contact Chris Matson (Group Scout Leader) on 01440 821683 or 1stwickhambrook@gmail.com

Events and News

1st WICKHAMBROOK NEEDS YOU

At our next AGM we will need to elect a new Chairperson and Secretary. Unfortunately we have not filled these positions over the year so are in grave danger of being forced to shut the group (under charities commission rules)

Our group's executive committee helps run the group along with the Group Scout and section leaders. The committee is made up of a Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary. If interested in either role all we ask is that you chair and take notes (secretary!) at our AGM and any exec meetings (we supply the tea and biscuits!) we try to hold these meetings once a term. No experience of scouting is required but all committee members will need to have a full CRB check (funded by the group)

So if you want to re-live your youth (however old you are) in the adventure that is scouting and help keep scouting alive in Wickhambrook, Please phone or email Chris (Group Scout Leader) 01440 821683 1stwickhambrookcubs@gmail.com
