Wickhambrook Womens Institute Reports

july 2011

The July meeting began with Trica Jackson from Shimpling and Alpheton W.I. our delegate for the A.G.M. in Liverpool, giving a full report on that meeting. She was followed by Kate Sammons from the Estates Committee of the Parish Council, who gave a short illustrated presentation on the proposed new equipment for the children's play area which is situated just behind the W.I. Hall in Wickhambrook.

Merel Davies then gave an interesting and informative talk and demonstration of the Bowen Technique, a unique therapy for a wide range of conditions. The range of movement in the arms was noticeably increased in the member who volunteered for the demonstration. Merel offered small treatments to those requesting them and favourable comments were made by the recipients.

Members had worked hard providing teas for those attending the recent village flower show and are now preparing for a tea party on Wednesday 17th August from 2.30pm till 4pm in the W.I. Hall.
