This pleasant 4-mile circuit starts from Lidgate and makes use of hilltop footpaths to reach the hamlet of Upend. The return journey is mostly along a Quiet Lane. The newly opened permissive path around Lidgate Castle mound and the site of Lidgate Mere is included in these directions. Walking is good all year round…
The upgrade to the defibrillator sited at Wickhambrook Memorial Social Centre, Cemetery Road, has been completed and is back on line. Our thanks go out to one of our Parish Volunteers, Peter Vince, who organised this for us.

We’ve been advised that our defibrillators need a software upgrade. The defibrillator located at the Memorial Social Centre, Cemetery Road will be collected on 8th November and unavailable until 11th November. We’ll let you know as soon as it is back in commission.

The ‘walking procession’ will leave Wickhambrook Primary Academy playground at 12.30 led by the Bury St Edmunds Sea Cadets Marching Band. This will take a short route through the village, approx 1.2 miles, and back to the MSC recreation ground. Those not wishing to walk the full route can join the procession at The Greyhound. Please come along and join in the fun…

This is a shorter walk than normal and has the added advantages of being local and has no stiles. Total distance is 3 miles and at gentle pace it is unlikely to take longer than 2 hours. Maybe an outing for a summer’s evening?
