Anglian Water are making new connections in your area – news below from the Anglian Water team
We’re committed to providing reliable and resilient sewerage and water services to you and four million other residents in our region. That’s why we’re planning a project to install almost seven kilometres of new pipes between Hundon and Great Wratting.
We plan to start work in August and expect to be finished by April 2024, but as with any engineering scheme there is always the potential for unforeseen delays.
Our region is drier than any other part of the UK and is also one of the fastest growing. We’re building a network of up to 500km of new water pipelines to make sure our region is resilient to the risks of drought and to secure water supplies for future generations. This pipeline is just one part of the new series of interconnecting pipes will allow us to move water more freely around the region to keep up with demand.
What have we done to get ready?
Last summer we carried out investigative digs along the new pipeline to help us understand the ground conditions, plan our work, and find any existing underground utilities.
We’ve also completed various surveys of the area including an ecology survey to make sure the work we’re planning won’t have an effect on any important habitats or species.
What happens next?
We now need to complete 1.5km of archaeological digs along the route to make sure we don’t disturb anything important when we install the new pipe. You can see the approximate locations on the overleaf. This shouldn’t affect you but you might be able to see and/or hear us working if you live nearby.
How will the main work affect you?
To minimise disruption to you and your neighbours we’re installing all our new pipe within fields.
Our investigation work will take around two months and we’ll be back in touch before our work starts to let you know how it’ll affect you.
How can you find out more and get in touch?
We want to keep you updated on our work, so we’ve set up a webpage at anglianwaterproject.com/Hundon you can find more information about this project and read updates on our progress.
