Thank you to all who came to the Annual Parish Meeting last night, when the Alf Hicks Biscuit Barrel was presented.
Kevin Grimes was the unanimous choice by the Parish Council for the award this year and the photograph shows Chairman Mike Lavelle with Kevin who will hold the Biscuit Barrel for twelve months and have his name added to the list of previous worthy holders of the award.
In 1991 the Barrel was presented to Alf as a gift in recognition of his service to the Village. Alf kept the Barrel for a while but then returned it to the Parish Council with a request that it be awarded annually for outstanding service.
Kevin has supported the parish council over many years through his regular inspections of the children’s play equipment in the pocket park at Bury Road.
Kevin also very kindly officially opened the new Senior Wooden Goal End and Basket Ball Hoop on behalf of the Parish Council.
