A note from your Clerk – Dogs in Parks

13th June 2023 | Parish Clerk Report

There’s been quite a bit in the news recently about dogs etiquette in public places!  As a dog owner myself, it’s lovely to see our dogs socialising and playing in open spaces, but please keep in mind that dogs should be under control on Six Acres and on lead on the Recreation Ground.  Not everyone is comfortable with friendly dogs rushing up to greet them, and children and frail individuals could inadvertently get knocked or fall when there are one or more excited dogs underfoot.  Recalling a dog is much harder when there are lots of distractions, please keep them on a lead, extender or long line on parish open spaces in Wickhambrook.

There are also free dog bags for waste at the entrance to the Recreation Ground if you forget to bring one with you – please just take what you need for the occasion!
