Hello, I hope you are all keeping safe and well.
It has been a busy autumn for all of us at the parish council, with work on all our on-going projects, our regular Parish Council meeting in September and a meeting of the Estates Committee in October. The Neighbourhood Plan Working Group is now also well established. They’ve been meeting monthly and progress to date includes:
- Designation of the Neighbourhood Area (the whole parish)
- Drafting a household survey for early next year; and
- a grant application to Locality; and
- a dedicated page on the Parish Website – click here for more information
In September the parish council agreed replacement fencing for the old Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) space. New bow top fencing similar to that surrounding the Skate Park has been ordered, and we hope that it will be installed before the New Year.
Updates on all the ongoing projects can be found on the consultation and projects page of our website
In September, we welcomed a new Councillor, Simon Moy to Wickhambrook.
We still have one vacancy which we are seeking to fill by co-optiion. If you would like to become a councillor, have a look at some of the sources of information I’ve put together here, and chat with our Councillors to find out more about what it involves! Our next meeting takes place this Thursday, 25th November – 7:00pm in the Dulcie Smith Room, Wickhambrook Memorial Social Centre – follow this link to the agenda and reports: https://wickhambrook.org/parish-council-agenda/

At its next meeting on December 2nd, the Estates Committee will be looking at options for re-developing the old Multi-use Games Area for outdoor fitness equipment. We would really like to hear your views on these proposals. Please do come along to the meeting to join in the public participation session at the start, or contact the clerk if you have any queries or questions.
On behalf of the Parish Council and its Estates Committee, I’d like to convey our thanks to Roger Merry for all his work and advice over the years in looking after play equipment at the recreation ground and especially for your work bringing the Children’s play fort at the Recreation Ground back into use, and leading on the installation of new multi-play equipment at Bury Road last year. We couldn’t have done it without you Roger! I’m pleased to say though that we’ll still be working with Roger in his new role on the Neighbourhood Plan Working Group!!
Finally, please feel free to forward this message on to neighbours, friends and family in the parish and ask them to get in touch with me at if they would like to be included in our e-newsletter mailing list!
Keep safe and well
Hilary Workman
Clerk for Wickhambrook Parish Council
