l

bulletin from Suffolk Trading Standards

We received a report that a Capel St Mary resident had a knock on the door on Tuesday 26th. The caller said he was from “the doctors surgery” and that he was there to give her the Covid-19 vaccination.

Thankfully the resident shut the door on him and immediately called her doctors, who confirmed that the visitor was nothing to do with them.

We don’t know the true intentions of the caller, whether it be a attempted distraction burglary or if the man would have attempted to get the resident to pay for a “vaccination”, but please warn all friends and family that the NHS will not arrive unannounced at your door to supply you with the vaccinations.

If you are approached at the door by someone claiming to be there to supply the vaccine, please close the door and contact us on 0808 223 1133, or Suffolk Police on 101.

The NHS will:

  • NEVER ask for payment – the vaccine is free.
  • NEVER ask for your bank details.
  • NEVER arrive unannounced at your door to administer the vaccine.

NEVER ask you to prove your identity by sending copies of personal documents such as your passport.
