During these troubled time, a few more helpful suggestions for people who are self isolating in these troubled times, OR having trouble finding what they need in the shops while there is still some panic buying!
1) Eggs are available from a self service dispenser in Stowmarket. Follow the road to Stow past the Golf Club. At the Shepherd and Dog turn right then first left after the bridge. Follow the road and the place is on the left after a mile or so. There is a small car park. This is especially suited to those who shouldn’t have any contact with others, because the egg boxes are stored in a vending machine. You will need cash.
2) Rougham Hall Nurseries Farm Shop. Especially helpful for those who can’t go out, they are doing regular Saturday deliveries. Call them 01359 270577 to check what is available in the fresh fruit and veg line.
Please telephone to give your order; you will need to pay by card over the phone and then it will be delivered Saturday. You can order bread on Thursday ready for Saturday. They have a good Facebook entry https://www.facebook.com/RoughamHallNurseries/
Here’s a recent post:
“We have had so much interest in our local delivery and collections and we would like to thank you all for the support!
We are continuing to source our fresh produce daily and the farm shop is stocked up again everyday from 1pm so the afternoon is the best time to visit for fresh fruit and vegetables.”
3) Not food, but something for all the gardeners. Woolpit Nurseries will offer a click and collect system for buying plants etc. Details on their website – Woolpitnurseries.co.uk
They are obviously still going to be producing all their plants and need customer support to keep sales up, and where would we all be without Woolpit Nursery! You might be stuck at home, but you could get out in the garden and start planting!
