Dear All,
I want to both reassure you about the coronavirus infection rates in Suffolk but also urge you to do all you can to follow the rules on social distancing; handwashing; and wearing a face covering – and share that with others.
Infection rates are rising across Suffolk but at nothing like the levels of say Liverpool where it is being recorded at 700 people in every 100,000 of the population while in Suffolk it is around 40. However we must all be careful to ensure we keep these rates low.

Suffolk Risk Level
Update from Stuart Keeble
There are no immediate plans to seek any change to Suffolk’s risk level. The situation is kept under review, based on the changes we see in case numbers day to day and week to week.
To ensure we are able to maintain a relatively low number of positive cases in Suffolk we all really need to stick with the applied national guidance and local arrangements.
We need to ensure we continue to clean our hands thoroughly, wear face coverings where guided to do so and maintain social distancing where it is in place. If we continue to keep to these straight-forward measures we can reduce the risk of spreading the symptoms.
The government confirmed last week that Essex would move to the high COVID alert level from Saturday 17 October. For more information click here
