‘Good old-fashioned fun’ was the comment of one of the audience at a recent concert in the WI Hall, Wickhambrook, and it certainly was.
The Ukulele Players of Bury St Edmunds are a talented and enthusiastic bunch, age range 14-80+, and although they have not played many gigs, they gave a professional and polished performance. From ‘You are my sunshine’, through ‘Hello, Mary Lou’, ‘Bad Moon Rising’ and’ Rave On,’ ’ to Rocking all over the world’, every era was represented and as the band played and sang, the audience sang, stamped their feet and applauded with gusto.
After a Ploughman’s Supper prepared by the ladies of the WI there was more music, and as everyone left the Hall they were singing and smiling – including the band!
