Community groups, charities and voluntary organisations across the West Suffolk area are urged to apply for funding from West Suffolk Council’s Community Chest initiative. Since being setup in 2015 the funding has helped multiple community-based schemes such as those targeting social isolation and loneliness. The funding pot is £350,000 applications must be submitted by the end of September, but grants are not allocated until next April. Community Chest funding supports voluntary and community groups who make a contribution to improving the quality of life for people in West Suffolk.

Funded activities must help deliver the Families and Communities Approach and Families and Communities Strategy and eligibility criteria apply. The minimum amount that can be applied for is £1,000. This funding can be for one off projects or revenue funds for services.
