WI Meeting – Acting Superintendent Janine Wratten

25th March 2025 | Wickhambrook W.I.

Members of Wickhambrook WI were on their best behaviour as we welcomed a visitor from the police to our March meeting. Acting Superintendent Janine Wratten came to talk to us about her career in the police force.

Starting off in the Metropolitan Police Force in London in 2004 aged 22, Janine described how life was very different in the force twenty years ago. Describing the toxic nature in the Met back then, she eventually made her way through the ranks to become an Inspector in 2014. On the way Janine married and had two children which made life become a juggling act between home and work. In 2021 Janine made a fresh start in Suffolk which means a commute from Essex as her husband is now an Inspector in the Metropolitan Police Force.

Suffolk Constabulary has been very supportive and Janine is keen to support and mentor other females within the force.
