The annual Autumn Fair was held at the WI hall on Saturday 17th November. There was a good variety of stalls selling cakes, books, American style cookies and jewellery, together with home-made Christmas decorations which members had gathered to make on a previous Saturday morning.
There was the usual tombola and a special children’s tombola, also a chance to win a delightful Christmas hamper and a bottle stall where all the bottles were hidden in gift bags so it was not possible to tell if you would win a nice bottle of wine or just a bottle of water! There was also a stall representing guide dogs for the blind where a beautiful representative sat patiently all afternoon. WI members also manned the refreshments of tea, coffee and cakes.
Despite the turnout being somewhat lower than previous years, nearly £600 was raised.
