Wickhambrook W.I. Hall Open Day

11th October 2021 | Wickhambrook W.I.

As one of the few Women’s Institutes to have their own hall, we decided to hold an open day on Saturday 2nd October between 11.00am and 3.00pm for all the other organisations who use the Hall for various activities.

On the day there were stalls representing the Horticultural Society, the History Society and the Women’s Institute itself of course. There was also a stall for the Farmers Market selling delicious jams, pickles and homemade cakes.

There were representatives from the Yoga and Country Dancing classes, held on Saturday mornings and every other Wednesday at 2-00pm respectively. Maria Sumner who does a great job of managing the Wickhambrook website was also in attendance to show people what’s on offer in the village. Jo Gearing was there to represent the 1st Wickhambrook Beavers who meet in the WI Hall every Monday from 18-00 to 19-00. She was also there with a plea for anyone willing to help out and get involved as they are trying to re-establish the Cubs within the village as they have had to combine with Moulton Cubs. Anyone interested should contact Jo on 01440 820860.

Finally members of the WI provided refreshments: tea, coffee and homemade cake. It is hoped that people who attended gained an insight into what goes on at the Hall on a weekly basis.
