For our June meeting members were asked to meet at the Wickhambrook Bowling Green at 7-00pm. Gentlemen and one lady from the Bowls Club were on hand to give us all some pointers on the art of lawn bowls. One or two members claimed to have played many years ago but most of us were novices.
After some initial practice ends our President desperately tried to organise us into teams in order to play a Round Robin game. Eventually some system was put in place and we proceeded to spend the next hour playing against each other in order to produce a winning duo. Some of the scoring was a bit suspect and there were even a few squabbles over whose turn it was to throw the Jack!
The winning duo were presented with small posies by the President. The Bowls players were invited back to the hall for refreshments and we finished the evening with the business of the day.
All in all it was a fun evening with glorious weather.
