With two consecutive Bank Holidays to choose from Wickhambrook WI decided to host a pre- Coronation Tea Party on the 29th April in the WI Hall. Committee members produced a finger buffet of sandwiches, scones, cakes and homemade biscuits. WI members donned their finery and were greeted by a glass of bubbly – both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. With music playing in the background members chatted and mingled before sitting down to a delicious afternoon tea.
The WI Hall had been suitably decked out in bunting and tables were laid with red and white tablecloths and patriotic serviettes. One member had knitted yards of red and white bunting! There was even the chance to have a photo taken with King Charles, albeit in the form of a cardboard cutout. This produced great hilarity! Members were all agreed that the afternoon was a great success and were reminded as they left the hall that the next event would be the “Big Help Out” on Monday 8th May.
