Once a year the committee are given a break and the members take over the running of the monthly meeting. We never know what to expect at these meetings and this year was no exception! At the start of the meeting we were sitting in groups around tables with a quiz to start the proceedings. There were nine questions to be answered and then the aim was to find a link between all the answers. Most people managed to answer the questions but only one person found the link which was one word which could be used together with each answer. This was followed by a chance to do some crafting. A member of the craft group showed us how to make an “owl” hanging from a piece of hessian and some buttons. This was done in stages so that even the least “crafty” person could keep up. Everyone was pleased with their efforts.
We then had another quiz which was related to sweets and chocolate – something close to all of our hearts. The winning group were duly presented with packets of sweets as prizes. All agreed it was a fun and relaxed evening and the committee especially appreciated a night free from responsibility.
